knots

Sometimes there is too much to let out.
Thoughts and feelings,
They scramble.
They twist around until I can no longer untangle them.
Like a fine necklace chain,
Left.
Neglected.
In the pocket of my coat.
If only I could get my fingers
Through the tiniest of loops
And begin to pull away.
Begin to work the knot,
Loosen the jumble
And smooth it back out.
Without breaking
The silvery threads of my mind.
Then maybe that ruby heart
Could finally hang.
Free and open for all to see.
